Tum Bin is an excellent movie in all respects. The story, screenplay, dialogs, direction, cinematography, acting and music all are excellent and that is why I think it was a hit movie of 2001.
Tum Bin is an unusual love story depicting unlimited love, faith, destiny, unselfishness, and sacrifice. Shekhar accidentally kills his associate Amar, and decides to watch over Amar's company and take care of his family and friends. However, he falls in love with Amar's fiancé Piya. To know the climax you have to watch this movie.and its worth to see it. The song "Koi Fariyaad" sung by singer Jagjit Singh is considered one of the bestest ghazal in modern day Bollywood movies . Tum Bin is one of the best romantic films of Bollywood. All the four new comers done their job very well. The script is very well written and director Anubhav Sinha has maintained the flow of the narrative quite skilfully without allowing the audience to get bored at any point. Mallik alongwith the supporting cast also have done well. Good performances have helped the director in making the movie an impressive one. Shot completely in Canada, Tum Bin is a visual treat. It’s a eye-soothing and heart-soothing colourful celluloid trip to Canada. The cinematographer deserves a lot of applause for his work. The movie is technically sound though the length should have been less. Nikhil-Vinay’s music is another big plus point of Tum Bin. The title track, Chhoti Chhoti Raatein Lambi Ho Jaati Hain, Tumhaare Siva Kuchh Na Chhhat Karenge, Koi Fariyaad Tere Dil Mein Dabi Ho Jaise, Pyar Humko Hone Laga etc. are quite melodious. Faiz Anwar’s lyrics written for them are meaningful and touching. The songs of Tum Bin have a long life and they are fondly listened to by the music lovers even after so many years. The message of this story is - move ahead in life, leaving the past behind and forgiving someone if he is truly repenting upon whatever negative got done by him. Philosophically talking, love and hatred are two sides of the same coin. The way sometimes excess love for someone takes the shape of hatred, the same way we may happen to love someone we have hated a lot. Life never stops. It keeps on moving. Hence we also should move on and allow the wounds of the past to be healed. I recommend this beautiful movie to all who like love stories and emotional dramas. Real Steel is a science fiction fantasy piece that imagines a world in future where all that is possible, where humans take control of giant robots to do battle on their behalf in the boxing ring.
There is a story in this movie, which I found to be just as interesting. Hugh Jackman is a former boxer named Charlie Kenton, who now makes a living off winning robot boxing matches. Unfortunately, he faces bad luck when he loses a great deal of money from defeat in two boxing matches. Around this time, Charlie's 11-year-old son Max, played by Dakota Goyo, comes to spend time with him temporarily as part of a custody agreement with Max's aunt. The boy is very unhappy at first, but soon, it's clear that one thing might bring him and Charlie together: robot boxing. With the help of Evangeline Lilly as a robot mechanic named Bailey Tallet, the father and son strive to win some money from robot boxing. One day, Max discovers a discarded but mostly intact fighting robot named Atom. Although Atom is an early second-generation fighting robot that is obsolete compared to other fighting robots, Max becomes attached to Atom. Even Charlie does too, especially as he discovers that Atom's programmed ability to shadow a human's actions may prove useful in the ring. Pretty soon, Atom becomes a sensation, inching closer to fighting the ultimate opponent in the World Robot Boxing league: a fearsome undefeated robot named Zeus. Hugh Jackman and Dakota Goyo share a wonderful chemistry together that worked wonders for the film. When director Shawn Levy’s robots step into the ring, there’s something almost magical about it. Any time there’s a robot on screen, this movie works. It has energy, it has excitement, it has your attention. The important thing is that the movie explores a fun idea and features a main cast that, I must admit, delivers good performances. We get an uplifting action picture for the whole family - for kids AND kids of ALL ages. Overall, it's solid like real steel. The movie does shine a spotlight on African problems, some of which still exist today.
The movie takes place in the 1990s, when war was raging in Sierra Leone. A "conflict" or "blood" diamond was one mined in a warring country, and sold in order to further finance the war. Worse, many rebel armies in Africa did and still recruit boys sometimes as young as eight or nine, brainwashing them and giving them guns in order to kill. The main purpose of American journalist Maddy Bowen (Jennifer Connelly)is in Africa investigating blood diamonds. Archer(Leonardo D Caprio) is looking for a large pink diamond discovered by Solomon Vandy (Djimon Hounsou). Vandy reluctantly agrees to help Archer, as long as Archer helps to reunite Vandy's family, which was separated by violent rebels. The problem is that the rebels are also after the diamond, and war rages around everybody. The two are making their way across a dangerous country, each for his own reasons. Vandy will stop at nothing to rescue his family, in particular his son, who has been brainwashed into a fighting machine. Vandy is willing to walk through a war to save his son, and this deep emotional connect slowly breaks through to Archer. he is both bad and good, depending on what will suit him best. DiCaprio slips easily into this mode - a man who can become casually violent when the situation calls for it. His actions horrify Vandy, who is a simple family man. The three lead performances are magnificent and any or all of them are worthy of serious Oscar consideration. Director Edward Zwick is the perfect man for this kind of material. He specializes in high end, epic action sequences. The stunning cinematography by Eduardo Serra is also worthy of note, as he captures the beautiful and the not-so-beautiful spectrums of South Africa. I found that this film was actually pretty good and would definitely be worth your time. This is first-class film making across the board. Armageddon:(1998) "Magnificent Action Spectacle! The challenge spirit in this movie inspires me."7/26/2016 After a meteorite storm ravages New York City, NASA discovers that an asteroid the size of Texas is speeding toward Earth.
With just eighteen days before impact, NASA executive director Dan Truman (BILLY BOB THORNTON) discovers that he has only one viable option -- to drill a hole in the asteroid and then plant and detonate a nuclear bomb hoping that the internal explosion will split the rock into two pieces that will miss Earth. Thus, Truman enlists Harry Stamper (BRUCE WILLIS) and his deep core oil drilling team, known to be the best in the world. Harry's got other problems, however -- most notably trying to keep one of his gung ho workers, A.J. Frost (BEN AFFLECK) ,away from his beautiful adult daughter, Grace (LIV TYLER). Even so, Harry realizes he has to go and save the world and agrees to do what he can. Thus, he and team -- which includes Frost; his best friend, Chick Chapple (WILL PATTON); a squirrelly geologist, Rockhound (STEVE BUSCEMI); big man Max Lennert (KEN CAMPBELL); and an odd assortment of other characters train for their dangerous mission. Blasting off into space aboard two space shuttles, Harry and his team are accompanied by NASA astronauts Colonel Willie Sharp (WILLIAM FICHTNER), copilot Jennifer Watts (JESSICA STEEN), and mission specialist Gruber (GRAYSON McCOUCH). There they dock with a Russian space station where cosmonaut Lev Andropov (PETER STORMARE) joins them after a calamitous accident. From that point on, the assembled team races toward the asteroid. Encountering various obstacles and bureaucratic blunders back on Earth, Harry and his team race against time to drill eight hundred feet into the rock, plant the nuke, and blast off before the asteroid plummets into the Earth, completely destroying it in a fiery Armageddon. BRUCE WILLIS plays a take charge kind of hero who isn't above shooting at his daughter's boyfriend when not setting out to save all of humanity. BILLY BOB THORNTON plays a worried and nervous NASA executive who must convince and train Harry's team to stop the asteroid. BEN AFFLECK plays a young and headstrong oil rigger who's fallen in love with Harry's daughter. STEVE BUSCEMI plays a squirrelly and nervous geologist with an obsession for large breasted women. WILL PATTON plays Harry's best friend who hopes to make things right with his estranged wife -- and his son who doesn't know him -- by being a hero. What the film's really about, however, is delivering a visceral assault on your senses with as much revved up, in your face action as possible. If you can manage to squeeze in a lobotomy before seeing it, the film does mostly succeed in regards to that. Several sequences are quite effectively fun and exhilarating, something director Michael Bay honed in pictures such as "Bad Boys" and "The Rock" (which is still the best and most enjoyable Bruckheimer produced film). Director Michael Bay does a wonderful job with a very talented cast. The technical side is beautiful and realistic. You have to watch this movie and wonder are we at risk of this form of catastrophe. |
